Moving with Math®
Balanced Programs
Pre-K - Grade 8

Essential Grade 1 to Grade 8 skills organized in levels:
Features | Level A Grades 1 and 2 | Level B Grades 3 and 4
Level C Grades 5 and 6 | Level D Grades 7 and 8

Objective-Based System

Objective-Based.  Each multi-grade level has a set of 50-60 objectives.  These objectives have a nearly 100% match to most state tests and national standardized achievement tests such as the SAT and ITBS.

Tracking Progress.  Pre- and post-tests are matched to objectives to measure growth in achievement.  Test results prescribe learning goals.  Reviews and reteaching pages increase long term retention.

Achievement.  Students who learn math with manipulatives understand math better, become better problem solvers and score higher on achievement tests.

Activity-Based Process

Manipulatives.  Manipulatives introduce concepts so that learning can proceed from the concrete to the abstract.  Illustrations aid visual thinking.  Activity-based learning provides the solution for all learning styles.

Practice and Games.  Vocabulary and reasoning are developed as students talk about their discoveries and practice with pencil and paper.  Many games reinforce skills and make learning fun.  Students learn strategies to help remember basic facts.

Problem Solving.  Students use a five-step plan and strategies - act it out, use a model, draw a picture - to solve real world problems.  Structured lesson plans save time and guarantee success for the parent-teacher.
