23 R E S E A R C H - B A S E D S T R A T E G I E S Early Childhood Strategies: research-based strategies deliver results Addressing Research-Based Strategies Recommendations of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National Association for the Education of YoungChildren have collaborated in preparing a set of recommendations in support of high-quality, challenging, and accessiblemathematics for 3-to-6- year-old children. The recommendations were updated in 2010 and are available at www.naeyc.org/positionstatements/mathematics . Connections fully supports these recommendations.
