Page 43 Students Can’t Select an Answer Q: After our students log into the test, they try to select an answer but nothing happens. What’s wrong? A: The browser settings (on every computer) must have JavaScript Enabled , otherwise students won’t be able to select an answer. Students Can’t Advance Past Question 1 Q: Once our students get to question 1, they select an answer and click the “Next” button, but they cannot advance and the status bar doesn’t go away. Why? A: Somehow your browser took the students to our unencrypted/unsecure HTTP address. Type in “https://” before the www and press the return key or log off and type “https://www.mwmassessment.com/” into the address bar. Q: Our browser has the “https” in the address but our students still can’t advance past question 1, why? A: You may be using Internet Explorer 11 as your browser. If so, you must add our URL ( https://www.mwmassessment.com/) to the compatibility view list. Tests Results Not Appearing for a Student(s) Q: Classes have finished testing but some student results are not appearing on Planning Reports or Class Record Sheets. What is happening? A: Make sure that the missing student(s) have answered ALL test problems and have clicked on the “TURN IN TEST” button. Otherwise, their tests are considered incomplete and will not appear on any Planning Report or Class Record Sheet. You can log in as the student and click through the test and click on the “TURN IN TEST” button or have the student log in to finish any unanswered problems and then click the “TURN IN TEST” button. Students Are Logged Off After a Certain Period of Time Q: We logged all the students into the assessment 30 minutes before the start of the class. When the students went to their computer, they were logged off. Why did this happen? A: Our timeout for students using the assessment is set for 1 hour. Certain web browsers will not honor that long of a timeout and can disconnect a student after just 5 minutes. Please have your IT department extend the timeout settings for the browsers to your preference. Students Are Disconnected from the Assessment While Testing Q: Some students are disconnected from the assessment while trying to advance to the next problem or review a previous problem. Why is this happening? A: Make sure the student(s) are clicking the blue “Next” or “Back” buttons that are within the assess- ment screen (at the bottom center), and NOT clicking on the Internet browser’s forward and back buttons/arrows (at the top left) because this could cause disconnection from the assessment.
